It seems like a perfect way to get the player involved in these tactical battles, and to deal with the "black box" syndroma where the player feels that there is nothing which can be done once battle is set up, without making it too heavy.
So... this feature would be great for us Alea Jacta Est players
I know that your expansions are mostly based on new théâtres and wars, but I, for one, would definitely buy a DLC introducing such a game-changing feature (you can see this model work with Paradox DLCs focusing on gameplay mechanics)...
I don't have too much hope but I could not help myself but share the idea
