PhilThib wrote:Price has absolutely nothing to do with the decision, because we shall sell it exactly at the same price as it was originally planned (i.e. around 20€, as was decided by the AJE team months ago.
On the contrary, by making it a standalone, we don't "force" those players who don't want to buy AJE to get it to play Birth of Rome...and those who already bought AJE won't pay a higher price, because it is what we intended to charge anyway. This was why we sold the first AJE 'cheap' for a new release, as we always planned to sell the next games in the serie at the same level of price...

Im sure you can copy the scens files of AJE into the Scens Folder of BOR and will run perferctly. In this way you have all the scenaries together in just one game.
Franciscus wrote:Current Official status is simple, PhilThib has already said it:
- BOR will be a standalone game, with it's own install path, desktop shortcut, etc, and will not need AJE to work, if course.
- AJE current version is 1.02. AJE patches are NOT for BOR
- current owners of AJE, if they buy BOR, will have two games: BOR (with BOR scenarios) and AJE (with AJE scenarios)
- current available DLCs (Spartacus and Cantabrian wars) are meant for AJE
- the price of BOR will be around 20€, as it always was supposed to be, even when we planned it as an expansion

talking simply : all the scenarios "Empire" will go to AJE and the others "time of Roman Republic" (Punics wars for example) will go to BOR ?![]()
DON wrote:Considering that the price of AJE was only $20.00 I have absolutely no problem with four new scenarios packaged as a separate game for the same price. As long as the product is of the same high quality as AJE it strikes me as a bargain. I am quite willing to pay a price point of $5.00 per scenario for what are effectively new scenarios of the game system. If it helps bring new players into the fold to package BOR as a stand alone product, all the better.
Grim.Reaper wrote:Sorry if this was already answered, but I couldn't find it. Will BOR and future games only be sold via Matrix/Slitherine game site going forward or will you still be able to purchase it from Ageod and places like Gamersgate?
