Kensai, I just hope that this won't be the unique victory screen you'll see. Nah, you are a good player :)

Hehe, I hope not! I really liked the new battle sound samples when ancient armies clash. Also, the one-month turn asks for much strategic thought before planning movements (added difficulty) which I like! :D
A very solid work so far. Which is the easiest scenario to start with and from which side? Spartacus playing as the Romans perhaps?!

I got crushed as Spartacus on my first game. Second time I loaded up the Mithridatic war scenario and played as Sertorius. Got a really decent win after beating Pompey and Metellus and marching my armies on Italy. The AI is really tough in AJE, so kudos to the team for making it a challenge.

I have won as Spartacus by taking Rome... Not a target city for me but the roman national morale breaks after the city falls. But you have to be fast! I have played on for a few turns after my victory and the romans field several strong armies now. So march on rome as fast as you can and the slaves will rule the empire ;)

If I play with the Romans against Spartacus? Wouldn't it be easier?

I have tried this a moment ago- It was much harder and I was close to a defeat. But in the late game the romans have several options to call back troops from all over the empire and with the troops of pompeius I was able to win...

As the Romans I've been struggling with Spartacus...He wiped the floor with my largest army (30k!) before I decided it was time I went to bed. I have a lot of room for improvement :bonk:

Haha... just won the four years scenario as Vitellius. That's a pretty funny victory description. Something about orgies and victory feasts. Very fitting.

Tried that this afternoon and well, it went mighty smoothly.

Key in my opinion is to wait until some much needed reinforcements appear, until that point you can build up some troops to defend the main towns but of course don't engage Kirk yet.

Now, to win as slaves must be trickier i guess. Gonna try that now.

In my first AJE game (and AGE game too) got a minor victory as Rome in the Spartacus scenario, then tried the Slave factions and won by blitzing rome. Then tried Sertorious and got completely owned (mostly because I didn't understood the reinforcement system, I though they would regenerate each turn also I have to figure out how to resupply empty wagons).

Currently trying the 4 Emperors with the Flavians.

Expect that it will be some time before I get to see this mythical "Victory" screen. In my first campaign it appears that the wall hit the ram and that Sulla better find a new career. I have lost my fleet (D'oh), Marius just took Ancona (D'oh), Athens refuses to fall (D'oh) and I cannot remember when I have gotten this much trouble-free enjoyment out of a strategy game.
