But I really like the special touches that have been done to give the legions their historical characteristics. I was overjoyed to look at the tenth legion and see how awesome it was in comparison to other legions. Now if only I could use it. Hail, Ageod!

You can see, you can touch, you can't play with it. Muhahahaha...

Have to say, just glancing around at the map and the counters, this is one of the most graphically lavish historical games I've ever seen ... in fact it is the most graphically stunning.

May I ask something different. From now on, all future titles will be distributed only by AGEOD store? Or will they be also provided by other digital distributors (GamersGate, Steam, etc)?

EDITION PRONCONSUL
bonus
des cartes originales (normale et hivernale) du jeu (format bmp complet),
une version PDF réduite de la carte,
et une version spéciale qui montre les types de terrains.

What are these maps? Some nice maps, just beautiful to be hang as posters?
I fear they should be included in all editions, as helping tools. So, as they exist, I feel the 'version de base' AJE is missing these usefull features, and the true complete game (which include all existing feature to help playing) cost 250€. :(
Edit: LOL 'PRONconsul'. Sexy 'pron' maps? ;)

ERISS, I think you can play and enjoy the game pretty much without these maps. We need this differentiation for AGEOD to have all the extra support it can get from loyal patrons. It's a small studio, do not forget that.

PhilThib, I will buy the game here and all my future AGEOD titles will be bought by your online distribution. I now have old titles on GamersGate, ROP and PON on Steam, and everything future here. Just provide us with the studio's merchandise. Where are the signed T-shirts?! :w00t:

Formally you need to download the game within seven days of purchase. There is (was?) an extension service extending that period to a year.

Shame.I would like to give my money here but I lost a few games with that system. With gamersgate I do not have that concern.

Bertram, this may have to do with the old store, I really doubt you can compete with the other online distributors nowadays if you cannot re-download the game any time, without the need to contact the support. I believe it is a burden for the distributor as well.

i lately saw a Roman on the screen, looking on a map and searching for Carthago, the problem was, it was destroyed over 90 years before that and the people just did not spread the news...

you have longer experience than me with the company and forum, and literally an eye for visually impaired as me, but i dont think the maps will be needed for the game.
the time scale is too long, especially if you have the maps and get the potential extensions/scenarios from far earlier times...

as always, they teach people history and geography with the game (all those who dont learn it by current wars)
...not paid by AGEOD.
however, prone to throw them into disarray.

PS:

‘Everything is very simple in War, but the simplest thing is difficult. These difficulties accumulate and produce a friction which no man can imagine exactly who has not seen War . . . in War, through the influence of an infinity of petty circumstances, which cannot properly be described on paper, things disappoint us, and we fall short of the mark.‘

One thing I'll say about Ageod and in general the community here, if you have issues, and you have the digital key or can prove you bought the game, the 2 Phils have pretty much guaranteed you'll get the game back. I know it is not stated policy, but they have in the past offered to do it for me, so I think they probably still help their customers like that. I hope they do, because it has made me a loyal customer.

I pre-ordered and I am very pleased at the artwork, and the accuracy of the historical setups. It appears to be a magnificent recreation of Roman warfare at a strategic scale, just the type of strategic masterpiece I have come to expect from AGEOD! (I wish we could play through the tutorial now, but oh well!) I appreciate the low cost of the game and eagerly look forward to purchasing all DLCs which AGEOD produces in regard to this game. I hope that among them will be Trajan's war against the Parthians and Caesar's conquest of Gaul. An expansion of the Spartacus scenario to include the Sertorian War in Spain and the Mithradatic War in the East would also be appreciated. Good work to my favorite computer game design company!

I was able to purchase this beauty. To anyone else having a problem with "Vads" the CC needs to have the spaces entered.

Next question and my chance to die happy depends on it. Do you have any intention of adding the Diadochi to the early Rome scenarios? The time line is almost correct for the first DLC. I just want to know if the Hellenic states would be included.

You can contact us, as individuals (the Philippe but others too affiliated to ageod) and we will send you again a link. This sounds amateurish (and is in a way, but it works quite well)

Do I have to create a new separate account for the web shop? I tried to login with my forum e-mail and password, it was rejected, and when I tried to get a new password (I'm pretty sure I used the correct one) I was told that my e-mail wasn't found in the system at all!

Sorry, indeed the webshop and the forum are 2 separate things... however, if you have not yet registered on the webshop, nothing prevents you to use there a login and a password similar to the forum if this is convenient for you

Ah, thanks! The speed of responses from you is amazing!

Registered, paid and now downloading.

A couple of suggestions: I'd consider adding a bit of text in the register/log in page saying that the webshop and forum are two different accounts. Or maybe it's just me that might get confused about it ;) . In addition, like someone had already written, the download link was a bit hidden. I'd like there to immediately be a clear link available after the processing of my payment.

Those pennies saved will be patience earned, trust me. I just sit there, staring at that beautiful eagle at the menu, loading and reloading scenarios, waiting for that day. A few more weeks and we'll all be crossing Rubicons and bathing in the blood of our sworn enemies (who will most likely be disgruntled former partners or even second cousins).

Ah, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

This game looks fantastic! I'm so excited to play it. I think the Ageod gang will have really outdone themselves with this one (although I LOVE and forever will love ACW). There's been lots of stuff to take in with the pre-release download, but one thing that given me a great deal of amusement was that I've finally been able to locate Narnia! A decade and a half since reading the books and now I finally know that it's actually located just north of Rome! Who'd a thunk it!

Preorder done - reading thru the thread and noticed mentions about restrictions on downloads (within 7 days) - as the release is more than 7 days from now, will we get a second key to reinstall (new download) or will just a patch-new file-zip be sent/linked to us to upgrade our existing preorder download?

Good luck - I posted in Paradox Rome forum about your launch too - home some sad Rome lovers feeling rejected by the new EU4 release announcement will drift over here and give this game a go.

I was wondering the same thing. My guess it won't be a different key. Probably a mini patch file to get it up to release/play version. I noticed on the menu the file version says something like .99m or the like, so the preorder exe install isn't really the 1.00 the full release would be on game day.
