Another portrait not "active"

Sat Dec 04, 2010 2:18 am

OneArmedMexican didn't mention this, but:

Comrade Snesarev (MDL no. 947, 1016, 1094) has a portrait - Unit_RED_Snesarev.png - which is not mentioned in the MDL files and which therefore doesn't appear in the game.

Dear developpers, thanks for fixing those mdl files in your first patch.

Here is another one (perhaps for the next patch):

- 983REDS.A. Mezheninov.mdl: The png files contain a slight spelling error: Unit_RED_Miezheninov.png, the reference in the mdl file doesn't work because of that.
- 1078REDS.A. Mezheninov: same thing.

Bloody Russians. First they have those long, unpronouncable names, and then they keep changing the way they spell them.... :D

Mezheninov's army .png file is also misspelled.

Almost all these problems are with Red comissars and officers. I think the files were fine, but these guys are hiding from Stalin & Trotsky because they want to avoid execution for incompetence on the battlefield. Therefore they change their own .mdl files so that they don't have a portrait :D

not a portrait but "Erivan" region in Aermenia; or Armenian call "Yerevan" is spelled as "Erevan" in game. It can be sometimes mistake of Russian transliteration according to Armenian sources. Thanks for all updated leader portraits. :)

Edit: yes can be :)

Also "Ashkhabad" is spelled as "Achklabad" region in western steppes of Turkistan

"Elizabetpol" spelled as "Elizavetpol" in game,South azarbaijan region.

Thanks,

I have one more leader graphic that lacks the correct reference in the mdl file:

- 1234DON.Alekseev.mdl
- 1269DON.Alekseev.mdl

The graphic set is spelled slightly different and has a differemt faction prefix: Unit_WHI_Alexeiev.png

Thanks for the amazing work in creating a first patch this fast.

These are two different generals... the White M.V. Alexeiev is apparently not the same as the Don Cossack N.Alekseev :(

During the work on the leader graphics mod I came across two more mdl files which don't make use of already existing graphic sets. Perhaps this can be fixed in the next patch?

1119REDP.Dybenko.mdl - Unit_RED_Dybenko.png

1726USA W.S. Graves.mdl (one star version of this general) - Unit_USA_Graves.png
