Problems I've encountered

Thu Nov 25, 2010 6:19 pm

1. During the Demos I've found that none of the quick keys work (e.g. using Ctrl C or D, trying to find Victory Conditions.) Attempting to use the Function keys doesn't work either. Is this just a problem with the Demo game; is there a fix for this?

2. Demo 1 - the "9th Hot Key from the left" took a bit to understand/is not intuitive and the description isn't clear - the drawing doesn't look like anything crossed out but the white Russian eagle. It might be easier to understand by explaining that the correct key is the one in between the train guns or to the right of the small train gun. Just my two cents.

3. In the second Demo no matter what I do, I cannot get Haglund's group to combine into a single division, thus reducing its inefficiency from 35% to 10%. When the mouse is over the tent choices, it states that none of the actions are possible. What am I doing wrong?

4. When placing Lofstrom's division under Mannheim's the instructions state "first column, third row" when the actual button in the tent choice is "first column, second row". Fortunately, the info pops up nicely when the mouse is over the icon.

5. When trying to play the demo game (it's the fourth one and says something about the Czechs) I tried to end the turn but got kicked out by an error message. Is there a fix for this?

6. The demos were quite useful, however, I need to look over things again. Is there a manual to read? e.g. I cannot recall how to remove a unit from a larger unit; how do I correct an error in unit movement?

Despite my questions above, I am very excited about this game. It's got lots of promise - where else can we play a game that spans two continents? Looking forward to learning more about this game!

Not responding to the errors encountered, but I can answer your questions :) .

First, there is a manual. In the directory created for Revolution Under Siege (standard in the c:\program files (x86) directory) there is a subdirectory, named Docs. In this directory is an (english) manual.

You can not take a single element out of a unit composed of several elements, but you can seperate the unit into the elements it is composed of. You then can put the other elements (and the commanding officer) back together again. For taking the unit apart you use the "-" button, right next to the "+" button you use to oput the lekments together.

An error in movement can be corrected by dragging the unit back to the starting region (cancelling the complete movement order), or by using "delete" which cancels the last leg of the movement (you can use "delete" repeatedly, so as to cancel the movement region by region).

Thanks very much. I'll check out the manual. I'm definitely a visual learner and like to refer to a manual when playing something new.

I don't follow. It is available via the Forum or through the full version of the game? Can you provide a link to help me out? Thanks!

And... cool - my avatar worked out just fine. Just to be different!

Look where your program has been installed on your PC.

Generally on C:\Program Files\Revolution Under Siege.

In this folder, using the Windows Explorer, you will find a folder named:

C:\Program Files\Revolution Under Siege\Docs.

In this Docs folder, there is the RUS manual, called

C:\Program Files\Revolution Under Siege\Docs\RUS_Manual_ENG_v1.0.pdf

:)

And it's accessible from the Windows menu as well, when you go to:

Start > All Programs > Revolution Under Siege > Game Manual

Yep, I realized I asked a dopey question only after I shut down the computer and was lying in bed trying to go to sleep. I was looking in the wrong spot yesterday.

Thanks for your help (and patience!)
