Trotsky Bonuses and Conscripts

Wed Jan 28, 2015 11:36 pm

Playing the Reds, I have noticed that when I have Trotksy in command, he is supposed to give bonuses to maximum cohesion, initiative and discipline to all the units in the stack. However when I hover over a particular units information window, while I see that cohesion indeed increases, the initiative and discipline values read the same. Is this just a graphical issue where the increases are happening but they just don't show in the unit information window? Or is this a bug where the bonuses are not being received? Thanks.

Yes it is probably a bug. Just wait for the next version of the game which correct this and which should arrive soon before the snow leave our boots.

An update? That is great news. This is one of the better AGEOD games.

Hi

A while ago the forum was getting posts from members with 1 post saying "test, this is a test"
Now the forum seems to have become riddled with Nelliemn posts that seem to have little relevance to the thread and often little actual meaning - the Trotsky bonus thread is a good example.

In many posts Nelliemn either agrees or disagrees with a quote that is not in the thread and then asks for a pm to discuss

So if Nelliemn posts are legitimate I apologise for questioning the posts and presume that my Russian has deteriorated significantly over the years. Conversely what is the point/purpose of these posts?

regards

Mark

A second question concerning the Red side. Right now, they have one training officer, the 3-star who starts in Moscow. Perhaps there are others that appear when you buy new generals, but for now he seems the only one. That means two infantry promotions a turn. Aside from some starting units, the rest of the Red regulars are built as conscripts.

Here is my question. In AGEOD ACW (1 and 2) the militia/conscripts will over time "promote" themselves to regulars. This is especially true if they gain experience fighting.

Is this feature absent from RUS? I have tons of Red conscript infantry many of whom have fought numerous battles. I have conscript infantry with two stars of experience - but they remain conscripts.

Is this WAD? It seems strange that no matter how much experience a conscript gets fighting, they remain conscript unless that sole training officer gets time with them.

Feature absent for now. It will be better in soon new RUS version.

Alas, Grenoble has a lot of snow... :(

Since we have some informed responses, mind if I ask a couple more questions? Again, these pertain to the Red side in the campaign:

1. We have reached mid-1920, but all of a sudden it doesn't seem the Reds can do the Requisition decision anymore, even in areas where I have loyalties in the 80's. Money has completely dried up! Red national morale is 88 or so, so I am not sure if you can no longer Requisition because of that. Anyway, it seems the Reds cannot really exist without Requisitions so this seems strange

2. Also, I am wondering if supply and rail levels need adjusting. The Reds have a rail level now in the 800's or so, but it seems like units are barely keeping in supply. Sort of like the Confederacy in late 1865. Again, not sure if this is WAD, maybe there was often famine in Russia during this time. But it is hard to envision building armies of the historical size as there doesn't seem enough supply to maintain them. Not sure if this affects the Whites as well...
