Slowing down the combat wheel?

You know the combat wheel that pops up before the battle results? For some reason in my game it comes up and disappears REALLY fast is that because the battle is so short or do I have something set wrong?

Seems that in Wars in America it stays up longer. I like to watch the red and green bars what can I say

You can change the settings in the option screens I believe. Anyway at the beginning of each turn I recheck all the important battles with the event log at the bottom of the screen.
