Problem with making Polish army groups...

Sun May 27, 2012 11:19 am

Hi there, I am playing a Pbem, I am the whites and the Polish have joined the fight against the communists, the only problem is I cant seem to make army groups, I have all that is required, a 3 star general, but the button is still grayed out, is there problem or am I missing something?

I have the save game if need be, I am on 1.05QF5...

It may be WAD, as Polish joining the White player is only for gameplay: Polish are not whites, nor were allied with, and so at first were not supposed to be controlled by (and Whites if victorous would have invade Ukrania and Polland as the Red tried to, to make Great(er) Russia).

I am playing the Siberian whites, I can move the Polish units around...

So you are saying that I cant create Polish armies now but I can at a later date in the game?

Pretty certain this is not WAD. I ran across the same issue half a year ago (and I think I reported it back then). For your current game, I would advice you transfer one of your Siberian three star generals to Poland. It's a bit gamey but at least you can create corps for the Polish army this way.

In the early versions of RUS there was a similar problem with Mannerheim not being able to form an army. It was solved by adding an hq unit to the Finnish OOB. The deeper reasons seems to be that there is a limit to the number of armies each sub-faction can create (I may be wrong, though). For Poland this number appears to be set to zero (another example: Don Cossacks can never have more than one army).

Thanks for the reply, yes it seemed strange to me, surely this could have been fixed when you reported it, I dont have any spare 3 star white generals to move to Poland..... are there any plans to fix it do you think?

Lodilefty has done a lot to fix bugs in RUS lately. I think we should have confidence in him, he does an amazing job.

Yes he has been really good with re-balancing and fixing bugs recently, do you think you could bring this particular bug to his attention :)

I recall this in v 1.04, in my PBEM. The game was already lost, even with Omsk being once under attack. What I did is exactly what OneArmedMexican said, I transferred Kolchak to the Polish front. But initially he is locked in the game, so I can hardly help in this.

Maybe Janen or Martynov is an option to consider for transfer.

I just remembered that Kolchak was unlocked a while ago, I have sent him west and setup a Polish army with him, are there plans to fix this bug? :)

I think I have some ideas, but I need a save game to test what happens.

Upload saved turn where Polish are active with the Whites, and cannot form a Polosh Army witht Polish general.

Polish no army files..

Wed May 30, 2012 3:10 pm

Ok here are the turn files, its the first turn files in which the Poles are activated and as you will see they cant form armies, I have zipped all the files for the relevant turn, I wasn't sure what ones you needed so they are all included :)

Thanks for all your work..

Found and fixed [a rather esoteric thing in the Factions files defining Army HQ names]

Now to gather a few other buggies and try to sit long enough to do next QF
