Dyherrn & Co.

Several months before Soubise and his army appear in Alsace, duplicates of a portion of it including Dyhern and seven or so other bdes appears at Strasbourg. AFAICT, this happens every game.

I thought it was probably a duplicate event somewhere, but I've trawled through the event files without solving the mystery - the only reference to "dyherrn" I can find is in the "1757 events" file, when his contingent appears with Soubise (the second time he and his contingent appear).

Where is the first Dyherrn contingent coming from? I will need to run a practice game to find the precise date they arrive, but it's some months before the Soubise army turns up at Strasbourg.

But in any case, these dupes need to be eliminated - I've gotten into the habit of moving themto Belfort and letting them sit there until they starve or freeze, but it would be best not to have them at all.

OK, found it - the "original" Dyherrn is on-map from game start as the "Reserve de l'Est" at Strasbourg, but locked until about the same time as the Soubise army shows up at Strasbourg with the duplicate units.

So "1757 events" file needs to be edited to remove all the units which are already present as part of the Reserve de l'Est.

Sure, why not - having Dyherrn appear with Soubise would simplify the task of organizing Soubise's army and the result is the same anyway.

Well, I agree, it's even slightly better...i.e. in case those units become unlocked earlier, they could enter play before proper historical time...better they arrive at the right moment with the right guy. Will fix tomorrow
