Invading saxony -scenario

Thu Mar 11, 2010 1:38 pm

Having played only the Saxony scenario on the Prussian side to get the feel on things (before jumping in to the "real" game, that is), I wasn't aware of the somewhat messeded up state the Imperial side is  Just out of curiosity I launched the Saxony scenario today, and it is even worse than I did assume.

Ok, I understand it is the intention that Austrian forces are in a mess, and was historical too. But were the Austrians really so stupid they wanted to see their Advanced Guard in Lobositz to starve out before they can move? I mean, we are talking about the creme de la creme here, and they run completely out of supplies before they can move (Early October, they run out of supplies before that even though they pillage the province in September in their despearation to find some food).

Somehow I doubt that was the historical fact :)

Anyway, once I noticed that, I restarted the scenario and attempted to send a supplywagon from Dresden, but Prussians captured the waggon in Pirna. Once again the guards were compleltely out of supplies and had pillaged Lobositz before they finally could have started to move.

The supply situation in Lobositz definitively need to be improved at the start of the game, or the advanced guard has to be placed somewhere else initially.
There are three kinds of people: Those who can can count and those who can't.

Agreed, I'm pretty sure that was an oversight. Maybe just adding a single element wagon (in a separate locked force) would do the trick. An advance guard that has to retreat immediately to resupply after getting activated is a bit non sensical ;-) ...
