PBEM turn compression

Wed Aug 11, 2010 1:13 pm

can someone explain exactly how this is supposed to work?

I am hosting my first PBEM game of RoP 1.02.

I turned on the "turn compression" option and set a password in the "Options".

I followed the PBEM procedure as set out in pp. 10-11 of the manual and our game is progressing along nicely.

However, when I explore down to the save game folder to extract the TRN and REPLAY files to send to my opponent, none of the files are compressed and the game never asks me for my password. I still have to ZIP the files manually.

I have not been able to find anything in the manual or the forum which explains how the "turn compression"/password option works.

.....

On a semi-related note, both Ferdinand of Brunswick and Wedell now have a strategic rating of "8".

1.02 bug or data corruption?
