Detailed combat report

Fri Jul 16, 2010 5:12 am

From what i read, one of the differences of ROP to other AGEOD games is detailed combat report.it tells about individual units commmitted in battle(and how many elements committed in each unit) in each combat round, cohesion and health lost and also about brigade leaders influence in combat. by looking at the past topics in forums i learned that unit only fire or engage with only one unit or brigade in 1 round,on the second round unit can fire different unit or brigade.third round unit can fire another unit.
But what is not clear is that to who the unit is firing to ? in combat report it doesnt tell also the manual doesnt have information about this. I think it would be better to have the information about how my grenadier performed against specific cavalry. and how much cohesion damage did it give to that cavalry.it is for better enjoyment after all and understanding the game mechanics better.
Thanks.

After looking at some battles in detailed combat report there is some comments about how did the units and brigades performed in each round. I came across some comments that they didnt match with the damage or cohesion damage they performed against the enemy.

I looked at battle log, From what I understand In battle log units chosen randomly(Bigger units has more chance)to engage chosen unit. And there are some percentages for attack and damage modifiers or hit chances. Also there are some commit chance and leader abilities added to attack values to units engaging, and many more.

What I wonder is when the game creates detailed combat report, does the conclusion about success or failure(comments about performing of units like commanded successfully or high hit rate ) independent from damage achieved or taken. Or is it decided by high roll of dice about maximum they can roll (attack, defence) independent from damage against the enemy; or hits taken.?
