Annual Campaigns ?

Tue Mar 23, 2010 4:55 pm

Are the scenarios that begin with each year (e.g. 1757) playable as one year scenarios ? (as opposed to 1757-1763) And if so, what are the victory conditions ?

At the moments, they are only campaigns (i.e. playable till the end). We could easily transform them in 1 year campaigns (which would need different objectives for victory), but it does not seem to appeal to most at the moment ;)

I quite like the idea of the shortened campaigns myself, it would be nice to finish a game in an evening for once! I think a balance between the long campaigns and short battle scenarios would be the preference, though I realise that there would be a lot of additional work involved!

I think that short annual campaigns would be a great addition to the game. I would think that the largest part of the work is done already (the starting setup for each year.) New victory conditions would have to be created for each year.

It would be a big plus to be able to complete a short scenario in a sitting. As is, The Invasion of Saxony is the only short scenario (in addition to the scenario for the last year of the war.)
