There is a cavalryman without horse. Does it represent a brigade cavalry leader rather than major leader ?
Gpepper for Hanovrian Grenadiers, my advice is to use British grenadier as a base rather than Prussian.
Hanover was King of Britain property and the grenadier shown on pictures or drawings have all the cloth or Wool mitre cap with the running horse on the bottom. This type of mitre-cap is different.
No problem for Bremen or Saxon or even other german states who based their grenadier on Prussian ones.

Thanks guys for the kind replies, glad I have joined the forum. Looking forward to the game.

Yes Hannover use the same type of design for the grenadier cap as the british did. They didn´t have any "metal" front like the Prussian, Wurttemberg, Saxon and some units in the Reichsarmee grenadiers wore.

I have studied the uniforms of the Prussians quite a lot and the other minor german states too and I have lots of resources for them both books and material saved on my harddrive. Though I have studied Prussian uniforms the most along with Austrian which is less complicated on the lace than the Prussians :)

You'll fit in just fine! I knew you couldn't resist a game where the Swedes will be featured. ;)

Yeah I love SYW, so will Sweden be featured in this game? Though they did only have minor skirmishes against the Prussians in Pomerania but won most of the battles against the Prussians :)

I can't imagine that the Swedes won't play at least a small part in the game. Gotta give the Prussians some target practice. :neener:

Maybe you are right. I don't know, my knowledge in uniform and army are quiet limited !
My orders come from Philippe or Hok... So I trust them like a blind man !

We will check this when we will do a brainstorm on uniforms...

Who does the art for RoP? It looks as good as Sandra's!

I must admit what I always liked most about your games was her art (BOA, AACW, WiA but not NCP) .. reminds of Osprey books, the pictures on Japanese model airplane kits .. beautiful things!!

Gpepper is the artist. You have him here, posting his own work ;)
He also did WIA new art, taking BoA as a model.
IIRC the original AGEOD artists Sandra and Robin, left after AACW.
Cheers!

Uniforms?!!

Wed Jun 10, 2009 6:09 pm

You guys are just "playing Barbies" not a war game. What real difference does it make whether they look "fit to kill" or not!! Everyone to his own I guess! Prussia just morphed into the Kaiser's empire and the Third Reich! Not a desirable outcome!! t

Making connections between classic Prussia and the Third Reich, that's exactly what this thread needed.

Excellent job on the graphx gpepper.
