Noob question : Leaders

Tue Mar 22, 2011 6:46 pm

Hi,

I just began the game. A few things confuses me :

- I can not create brigades. I have the ressources, the leader and not more than 4 units. The button is not greyed, so I push it, go next turn... and nothing happened. What do I do wrong ?

- One of my leaders (Prince Whilhelm I think, he is in Keith's Corps at the beginning) can be promoted, according to his panel. I separate him from the Corps, but the promote button is greyed. Why ?

- Also, I noticed that a Corps that I let just south of Prina Camp is now inactive, while he was active before (the enveloppe is dark red). It was not the case before. How did that happen, and what can I do ?

Also, what is inactivity actually ? I can not rationalize it in the game, which somewhat breaks the immersion.

Thanks !

First select the leader you want to lead the brigade (he has to be activated) on the second tab (with tent icon) he should have the enable brigade command button available. Click it then select him and 4 units and go to the first tab (sword) - there the combine button sould be available (with the big red plus). Click it and voila you have a brigade.

Activation changes (or not) from turn to turn. To increase the chances of activation put generals with the highest strategic stat in command of armies and corps.

Think of it as a mean to simulate the ineffictient command and communication systems of the era and also the abilities and characteristic of the generals.

When you select a stack in the bar on the bottom of the screen all the units in that stack are shown picture + a small symbol showing the unit type + health and cohesion bars(if applicable) + strenght number(if applicable). Generals that can be promoted have their symbol glowing and fading slowly in turns. Also remember that generals that are locked can't be promoted at all.
