Winter and its effects

Mon Dec 27, 2010 7:51 am

Well winter is here and blocked regions show me the "X" and the Shield "Pass now blocked" on map, BUT some regions are blocked but without any signs on map.
Dippoldiswalde in my case is blocked but doesn't show any signs.

Do I misunderstand something or is this a bug?

Also is it OK despited blocked movement that the supply map filter shows these areas as in supply?

You are not mistaken, the X sign with the message "can be blcoked" is a warning. The pass is not yet blocked but is about to be so...in such a way, you should know it's better to avoid using the pass in the upcoming movement because the move may just be cancel while you are using the pass (or, worse, after you crossed and you end up stucked on the other side)

Thanks, I wonder why there are 2 signs at all.
All that is needed is the "can be blocked" and "is blocked" shield, why this "X" signs, some of them are placed very strange and are more confusing than a help.
See 1st screenshot.

Also even "Can be blocked" seems to somehow distract movement or how should I understand this movement path?
See 2nd screenshot.

And what about Dippoldiswalde, no signs at all, cavalry is coming thru but infantry refuses to use the pass.
See 3rd screenshot.

On the 3rd point, Dippodilswade is no pass...it's normal mountain terrain with a major road...so the pass blocked signed does not apply there (it applies only to mountain passes, i.e. the dotted lines roads)

In snow weather, only light cavalry is allowed to move in those terrains, roads or not

Well again confusing, see screenshot on the left, Aue(Wooded Hills, Road) and Chemnitz(Wooded Hills, Major Road) use the blocked signs for the mountain pass too, why that?
And again what about the strange route planing?(Plotted from aue, to Freiberg to Chemnitz)

And is there some kind of rule what a unit does when the region its in gets blocked and the unit moves out?
I had a brigade at Dippoldiswalde and that was moved south when Dippoldiswalde became blocked, not really the best decision.
