the interior of Bohemia is sort of ok but the mountains on the saxon/bohemian border still aren't right

the crestline of the range is south of the border so there should be a chain of mountains on the Austrian side of the border, not 2 areas into Saxony

eg, the deepest part of the elbe gorge is between the modern town of Decin and the Saxon border to the north, and the escarpment extends away to the southwest, but on the map it is flat clear terrain

also the county of glatz shouldn't be mountainous, the whole reason it is a salient into Bohemia is because it would permit the Austrians a deployment zone in the Silesian lowlands and frederick wouldnt negotiate it away. There are only hills between Glatz and the rest of Silesia, not mountains as shown. Glatz itself is in the wrong area, it isn't even in its own county. There should be mountains between glatz and koniggratz, probably the terrain in the county of glatz itself should be hills and the hills on the Austrian side should be mountains

i'm saying this because i care . . .

overall the internal dimensions of the bohemian regions still seem askew. The northern part of Bohemia seems compressed. the prag area seems too close to the Saxon border to me, it shouldn't be further north than a line joining the southern most tip of glatz and the western most tip of bohemia, but it is.

prague is the key austrian depot and fortress in the area, if it is misplaced closer to Saxony and the Prussians, it is more vulnerable that historically it was. this is compounded by the mountain errors.

if the map is being used to play-balance the game, i don't think this is the right approach.

The map looks sweet! Thank you Arsan for posting this or else I never would have seen it! I hope the map development isn't too far along to allow for a few tweaks though! Overall great job in any case!

Indeed rogs...the map is little less perfect than i'm used to from AGEOD titles. Geographicaly it is rather symbolical than accurate and political borders very simplified...but for example borders between prussia and saxony are deformed, saxony's own east border isnt right -> i suppose it just consumed anhalt principalities but why not let it HRE?...(cottbus should be prussian...is it?) bayreuth, nurnberg and salzburg was not bavarian(and passau and regensburg, but their provinces hasnt good shape to represent it), whole würtemberg demesne is shifted to the east, palatinate owns köln and mainz?, and hannover borders i can not identified. it isn't such important as other problems but can be fix.

I have to admit to some small disappointment that the map includes so little of the Austrian Netherlands, if only because this will limit the possibilities for a War of Austrian Succession mod - no Fontenoy!

Once the game has been released and received its (fair) lot of criticism, then we can have a clearer picture of what 'would' be the ideal map...and could work with modders/volunteers for an improvement in a patch or an expansion...

Let's see first what is the receipt of the current version first ;)

Well, I obviously haven't encountered any limitation so far, but one thing I am not sure about are the map borders in the west. I guess it has something to do with french developers not wanting us Prussians invade France :neener:

The French were forced back and Ferdinand of Brunswick even crossed the Rhine several times.
If we did that in the game there would be little room for movement except the 'off-map' regions.

But if you do that in the game, you have won :D
