I notice that my colonial anchorage in a colonial area Im trying to build influence in is blockaded...I have sent ships to the area and have a brigade of colonial troops in the region...this doesn't seem to have an effect on the blockade...anything else I can do to break this blockade...? Im not even sure who is blockading the anchorage...

as with land units in the colonies, you sometimes lack the detection value not just to bring an enemy to battle but to even see if they are there.
I'd make sure your fleet has some squadrons with a very high detect value, Also some admirals have this trait, so sending one of them may help.

After looking closer, it would appear that a minor country (Oman) actually owns the port...im wondering if my presence there is actually blockading THEIR port???
