Hi all, I just DL'd and installed the game + 1880 expansion. Are there any threads on THIS SITE (been to Paradax ) or downloadable stratigy guides on these forums.

at the risk of rampant self-promotion, check out my Sardinia/Italy AAR (link in my signature) which was written as a beginners guide to the early years.

Other than that, ask, someone will try and give you an answer. Its an utterly engaging, deep, game, well worth the learning curve.

I will second Loki's assessment. His is the best AAR for knowing what to do with the game.
