Diplomacy: how to improve relationships ?

Hello,

I noticed that the only way to improve relationships with a country is to set a state visit. However, when I try to set up one, and the other side agrees, nothing happens.

I don't know what to do.

Next turn, I get a message saying that the state visit event expired and our relationships remains the same.

So... what am I missing please ?

It means that the state visit is done (logically: your relationships must improve then
Was working on 1.01e, did not check yet in 1.01f (save corrupted )

Another way to improve relationships is via the commercial agreements. If you have one of those and do trade with the country, your relationship should improve over time...
