Manufactured goods shortage

Thu Jun 16, 2011 7:29 pm

Manufactured goods are very hard to get. I am playing France and ran out of them despite maximum trading. And building factories for Manufactured goods costs lots of ... manufactured goods. Any advise welcomed.

A few things:
1. Go into the F4 screen, Man. Goods, last line, and you should see a tooltip to lower consumer demand by hitting ctrl-click. Lower it to 10%. This will give you a big boost.
2. At least for a while, shut down the Ecole Navale in Bretagne and St. Cyr in Ile de France. They each cost 3 Manufactured Goods and no give economic benefit.
3. Make sure you have railways built in the provinces where you have factories. They dramatically help, trust me.

I've got a France AAR that points a lot of this out over at Paradox:

Just click on the green lightning symbol on the unit stamp, just like for other structures :)

The problem is that I can't see these structures ... I just see agriculture items (Champ de ble) and I don't see any activated filter :-(

You must have first clicked on the landscape instead of cityscape. That is, you have two circles with various symbols on the map for each region, one of them is the landscape (where you have raw material productions/mining) and the other the cityscape (industries and improvements)...
