industry

Sun Jun 12, 2011 3:54 am

it's late February 1952 and I'm playing the USA.

I've spent many hours building manufacturing goods centers, building up coal and iron extracting mines and a few other industries every other turn or so only to have to build more of the manufacturing goods plants and iron/coal extracting mines every other turn or so..

I spend more time between turn calculations than playing this game.

I can do little because I am always low on manufacturing goods. Is there a problem or something I'm missing here?
I've read so much on this game my eyes hurt and but no clues to better production from industry.
. Hours playing and waiting to just build another manufacturing plant. I'm bored to death over this game so far. I know Ageod spent loads of time making this game. It must be better than this I'm seeing..

I buy everything I can from other countries, iron, coal, goods, supplies and it's never enough to do much of any game playing.

I found one cheat(Coding) to help with funds, so that isn't a problem. I can't build rails because I'm always low on goods. What could I be doing wrong?

How do you find factories that were shut down?

If you mouse over the second row in the F4 screen, shut down factories are in grey instead of green. OTOH, you can just toggle the shut down/start up all button in the upper right hand corner.

In my USA game, most of my time is military fighting Indians.

Why not post a saved game so people can see what you are talking about? :)

Everyone need manufactured goods at the start of the game it is difficult to find any in the market.

I have the same problem with japan, but using F4 screen i forbid the distribution of manufactured goods to my inner market and now it is far better. (It is more the lack of capital my economic problem).

Move your mouse over each row of good, and you'll discover tons of tooltip, one being the mean to alter the % of goods you sell to population. The lower % possible is 10% in 1.01 but has been reduced further to 5% in 1.02.
