On this save, I click proceed to next turn...

And it doesn't proceed to next turn. It saves the game. I reloaded the game and it is still just saving the game when I click proceed.

There is no HST in the current folder, so no hosting can take place. Did you manually manipulate the files? Are you using in-game file compression?

I also had this problem many times. I had not modified any game files or done anything strange in settings.

In every case, I closed the game, then restarted, and when I reloaded the save I was somehow at the previous turn (without specifically trying to dial it back). At that point, I was able to advance through both turns correctly.

I never had the problem persist after a restart.

yeah this happened to me as well. I got around it by deleting the files for that turn and rejigging the backup files around so i could load one a turn older.

before i did this i tried loading the same files many times and rebooted pc as it said it could not modify the file. no good.

Exactly the same happened to me, but just once.

I did not do anything different. I thought it was strange that there were so few files in this folder but I did not know why it was so.

Add another one to the list. Twice in one night, no manipulation of the files whatsoever. I've been periodically saving after 12 turns just to have a back up point. Good thing, cause it appears there's no other way around this little gem.

Greetings.
I also had the issue.

I also one time had the desynchronisation of value (fund, capital, coal, etC...) displayed on main page relative to the one displayed on F4 finance screen.

Reloading a save solved the problem.

+1

This is the issue that corrupted my first game. Tried using home key in the save menu to go back a few turns but it kept dumping me to the main page every time I tried to advance the turn, so I deleted and restarted.

In the case you can't backup one turn in-game, you should be able to retrieve the files manually in backup1... don't waste your game, this is not necessary to get back on track. I never had to do that in 4 years (ok, admittedly, I can check why in the code there is a problem ;) ).

I saved the game and it immediately wouldn't work. Here's the save game. And when I browse over it in the load game menu, I keep getting an error message that doesn't kick me out of the game, but won't let me load the game.

Greetings.
I use this thread because i do not want to polute the forum, (even it is probably not the same problem as before) but this save create a critical error at the end of the day 15 of the turn.

It happens as japan enter 1953. I did not manage to go on my campaign.

Also got a problem with the files (not) loading. No idea if it is realated...

Playing the Russians, plain game.
After about a year (late januari 1851) the game went to the main screen when I hit "next turn". I "resume(d)". The game loaded. I tried "next turn"again, and the game went to desktop, with a pop-up that said the "Main burst" was invalid in Directx9.

I am using Directx9 (saw somewhere else that the newer versions might have an issue).

The problem is persistent - restarting the game I can "resume", and the game loads. But going to the "next turn" will drop me to the main screen everytime, and hitting "resume" then will drop me to desktop every time.
