Initial Reports

Mon Jun 06, 2011 9:04 pm

I was 6 turns into a demo game when the download appeared.

Since the version number (1.01) looked the same, I moved my saved game over to the full game.

No problems.

Now, back to the game. :w00t:

Oops! :bonk:

Looks like this may not be a good idea. The F10 end date still say Sept. 1850.

OK, starting from scratch... probably needed to correct a few mistakes anyway. :D

Keep em coming. This forum is tragically slow sometimes.

I still have to wait 10 hours but I have some cool(hopefully) stuff I am working on for a more easy to use mp system. Maybe it will be good maybe not.

I wouldn't worry about starting over willgamer, 6 turns isn't even a drop in the turn bucket! :neener:

@gekkoguy...

Hey! Another Tennessean!

I just gave a little talk on the Battle of Franklin the other night at our Del Webb community.

The earlier action at Spring Hill played quite an important role in putting John Bell Hood in about a foul a mood as possible. Not a good night for the Confederacy. ;)

OK,
Downloaded...
Working....
Dramatically faster turn processing...About double the speed....
A few changes in the maps....
Nothing major....
Lots of music...
Seems to work fine...
Timed last two turns...
1:30 and 1:50 :-)
Map scrolling is also faster and easier.
Awesome job Phils....
Now, let's get this MP game started...

How is that possible if it is the same code as the demo?

Yessir! Although I must confess that I'm not a native. Been here three years and love it though. The whole Spring Hill fiasco is quite amusing in my opinion, and also a bit amazing. Amazing to me in that the Battle of Franklin almost happened right here in my "back yard". I don't think it took too much to set Sam Hood off at that point in his career either :neener:

I can't wait to get started with the real game! I always feel more complete and happy when I move on up from a demo to the real thing. I thought it was interesting that Knoxville was missing from TN, but then again, quite a few similarly sized cities are not represented, I'd guess for fear of over-cluttering the map.

I'm probably just biased since I spent time there this weekend touring downtown and playing hockey in Farragut

This is still 1.01 for the data, but the executable is slightly more recent.
