Vain Glory or Vainglory?

Wed May 19, 2010 6:49 pm

I see different versions of the game name, some with Vainglory as one word, like the title of this subforum, and some with two words, like the title in the recent screen shots.

Given that vainglory is a more precise term than vain glory, I assume that vainglory is correct.

Vainglory or Vain Glory?

The misunderstanding in actual title for this game may be partly my fault in a previous posting, but I think the AGEOD designers always refer to the game as "Vainglory of Nations".

The correct English term is "Vainglory," but "Vain Glory" has crept in here and there, including the installer.

And is the glory of a nation inevitably vain?

I'll bet you already know this, but it might be good to include an explanation of the word in the documentation, since it is rather old-fashioned at this point.

"Vainglory" means boastful, arrogant pride, coupled with aggressive assertion. You know, the kind of thing that gets you into a Great War.
