It is said in some sites that to reduce noise from the fan you need some oil

Pocus wrote:It has done good service, and aside from this noisy fan, it works well. It is just a pity to throw it away... Theoretically, can someone with tech expertise repair it by fixing a new generic fan to it? I know there are no more spare parts from it, this is a Zepto, a Danish company that died 2 years ago, and the laptop is 3 1/2 years old anyway.

Hohenlohe wrote:*Ufffh* I do not want to bother anyone but if you has listened to our politicians in the past you would understand. Not only that they told us Germans for a long time that we could be proud to have such a good labourer training inclusive a 3years school and job practice training for young people which will brought our industry especially the middle class based to some good heights in the past 200 years.
But why is our school system sooo really bad nowadays especially in the socalled PISA tests with a range in the midst for our pupils...??
Thus you can be really somehow disappointed if you call a labourer for some work at your home and you will often get bad work for some very expensive costs you would understand. This comes especially true to some small IT tech companies because they can dominate the local market.
Thus I am not always proud to be German...*sigh* Not only in regarding our history due to the 30ies and 40ies last century but also how we got such problems nowadays like a bad school system and so on...*sigh*
But enough offtopic for now...*grin*
Dear tagwyn, related to your somehow ironic words I know what you mean because not only in those times many Germans in the Management Elite overestimated our chances and proven more than before that they are only cooking with "water" because they have simply no plan...*grin*
But as a customer I think that I has the right to get something worthful for my money if I go to a small corporation...
That do not means that in any other country any people are unable anyhow...
heartly greetings

vaalen wrote:Dear Hohenlohe, though I am American I can remember the day when "German" meant quality, and superb workmanship. I used to go out of my way to buy German products for that very reason. Sadly, as you have pointed out, that is no longer true. Quality in the US has also taken a big dive. You also have to be very careful to make sure that your tech is honest and competent, as many are neither.
I want to thank you again for your help, as I will now be sure to clean the interior of the computer on a regular basis.
Hohenlohe wrote:Thx, dear vaalen, for your good statement. I think most of this lesser quality (products) belongs mostly to the idiotic production outsourcing that happened especially in the last twenty years in many western countries and is related to these too cheap "chinese" tech products. In the past this kind of quality was often called "blue monday production" especially here in Munich at the time of the Octoberfest because many labourers and workers were so silly drunken that they made too much failures...*grin* and I can state from the viewpoint of an old postman that no one should be amazed if in that time a postman here in Munich was not able to talk in a normal manner....*grin* on an early monday morning in late september...*ROFL*
But nethertheless I know some good ole labourers and techs in my friends circle and if I would have not been so lazy for myself I would be able to do some repairs for myself as I did in the early Nineties but nowadays the IT technology especially PC parts are soo sensitive that I prefer to give my PC away to a good tech and not doing it for my own...Sadly my father, a former retired good IT tech and electronic specialist(he is still proud that he has learned first in his youth "Smith" incl. "Gesellenbrief" and worked later on in the wurttembergian Machine-building industry until midst of the 70ies as he had to be change his job due to some health problems and was trained as an IT tech for around three years) from the old IT company TEMIC(former TELEFUNKEN) lives around 300 kilometres away from me...because he could repair my PC easily for only the PC parts costs...*sigh* but he do not likes seeing me gaming...*grin*
He thinks I wasted my time...*grin*

edit: I have learned by some decent informations from some friends that many automobile companies like Daimler, BMW and VW stopped outsourcing most of her parts even to other european countries due to quality problems and tried to let produce especially sensitive parts only in Germany by small good old german middle-class tech companies because of the better quality and superb workmanship...
goodwood wrote:hey Vaalen your problem seems to be contagious! my computer has died couple of times, my problem is a bit different, my screens goes blank and my computer shuts down a few minutes later. The fans on CPU and V/cards still work and the power source doesn't seem to be the problem. all the lights etc are on. I cleaned the fans and started the machine again and it work for a couple of hours and shuts down again. My prognosis is a dicky V/card any advances on that folks?
Ron
Edit: found the problem I think, more dust in V/card fan than the Sahara, however the fan looks if its on its last leg, can you buy replacement fans for the Nvidia cards?
