Well, I get the construction costs but no output data.

Also, I used to be able to reduce trade in a certain good by right-clicking. This doesn't work anymore, either. Edit: And, of course, ctrl-click doesn't work either. double-Edit: Even if it did work, I don't see why it should be considered an improvement to replace "right-click" (mouse-only) with ctrl-click (mouse+keyboard). What's the logic behind this?

The DirectX to main (burst mode) crash turned up for me this morning. There was nothing special going on as all I was doing was trying to play US peacefully. If you try to run to next turn on resumption but a small change seems to be enough to stop the crash

OK, thanks. But AFAIK it doesn't fix any of the troubles I am experiencing. I think I will revert to vanilla as it is still better than 1.01g.

This error - Directx to main (burst mode) - is not specific to the beta patch, as I have had it since release (1.01). It is a graphic error, probaly related to the map, maybe with loading/unloading textures (?), with some particular combination of Graphic card and/or drivers (or gremlins :D )
It is a random problem, that has happened to me on the first minute and also after 1 hour of playing. The randomness of this bug might explain the recurrent ocurrence and reporting.
I have an ATI HD Radeon 5750 with 1 GIG VRAM, with latest (11.6) drivers and updated directx 9.0c (running WinXP). Apparently I solved it changing settings in file VGN\Settings\Display.opt, particularly changing D3D9FullScreen = 0 to = 1. I am also playing in fullscreen mode. Other configurations are certainly less stable in my rig.

My display.opt file reads like this:

ScreenWidth = Default
ScreenHeight = Default
ScreenDepth = Default
ScreenFrequency = Default
Cursor = Hardware
FullScreen = 1
Windowed = 0
Borderless = 1

BrigthnessLevel = 0
MapBrigthness = 0
SeeTutoFiles = 1
SeeAIFiles = 1
D3D9FullScreen = 1
RegionsBorders = 1
NoWinterBitmaps = 0

The downside is that I am unable to alt-TAB.

before instaling latest patch, I deleted recomended directotys (did it for previous patch too, but just to be sure).

And I noticed these bugs.

started new GC as japan, only to see updates for my mission - saying I finished task for this year - (which is nice) , but firs update was for Uk (greatest flee), second for russioa (greatest land army).

when clicing on techs in f7 sreen for more info, it allways dispay in tech name reschearses navigation.

and when expanding depots numbetr of avaivable expansions is decreasing, before it allays reseted to 999 after all extensions was made.

Hello how do you download this recent patch is it the same as the previous beta patches. Because ive noticed you have more folders in the VGN folder which i deleted all the other ones then copied all of these one into the original game VGN folder. Then i copied the PON exe file over the old one and it asked for my serial number again which i copied into but now the whole game is a mess. So can someone explain how one is suppose to install this patch thank you.

I'm pretty sure I followed the original instructions (deleting the 4 specified folders).

Hello ive finally sorted it out. It was getting late last night and its been sometime since i last did it and i ended up having a mental blockage trying to work it out. Ive done it now and i see theres a couple new countries which is good. The next country i would like to see is Spain as she was a struggling power then.

Error on startup

I get an error when I startup the game after patching to 1.01h:

Thanks, I've already done that once (as I did make a mistake the first time I tried the patch), and I thought I had followed the directions to the letter the second time...

Used to it enough to follow simple instructions...! Unzip, delete, copy, not too difficult, but if I am doing something wrong then then instructions need to be clarified further...????

I am having a weird Windows & problem following instructions on the beta patches and thought maybe you could help as you so kindly do for many here.

I am a Mac guy - run a Bootcamp partition with Win7 for games so I don't do any file management stuff on it.

My problem - when I try to copy VGN folder after it asks if I want to replace and etc. and I say yes for all, it then tells me it will take many hours and the processor starts heating up and the fans starting firing away with very slow copying one file at a time. I've done similar copy/replace in the past on huge folders and it took minutes at most.

I don't get it and consequently have not been able to update PoN or play.

Any ideas? Thanks

OKay, thanks. I am wondering if the files that were in the zip file didn't get unzipped properly for some reason, or whether the zip file I downloaded got corrupted along the way somehow (grasping at straws now I realise).

In any case I am going through the whole thing again. After uninstalling the game I deleted all the left over directories... and am now just copying the files over again from the zip file.
