- In 1874 Japan opens to the world.. in our game Japan is one of the nations that is supposed to create "vassals" (the equivalent of protectorates only for Japan, China, and the Ottoman Empire) so we had scripted this ability to the nation some years earlier to match the alternate reality we were experiencing (an accelerated pace of game). The problem is, if you declare a colonial area a Vassal you cannot then upgrade it to Colony meaning that Japan or any other nation that might have had vassals, it cannot move forward unless through a script.

- With the new executable (in our PBEM game, soon it will come to the next patch I suppose) that fixes some ship upgrade chains, the F7 screen has some glitches in some of the graphics. Some of them appear blank.

- Always in the F7 screen, for some reason the technology of "beet diffusion process" (sugar) seems to be broken... even if you select it for accelerated research by next turn process it will have deactivated again... for Japan it is stuck to 39% for many months now (that I have been watching).

The Sugar Beet Diffusion Process tech has been broken for years in our MP game. I was looking for it as Spain (can't upgrade Rum factories without it), and now as Britain. It may be something specific to our game, or it may be a general thing. I hope it is not effecting other techs as well.

Couple of display bugs: Now I have a bunch of upgradeable structures; in a region (Franche-Comté) with both a first level iron mine and a first level wood logging, the tooltip over the little upgrade arrow for the logging tells me I can upgrade it to an iron pit. The tooltip for the iron mine says the right thing. Logging is the leftmost item on the countryside display.

I have gold and gems set at 80% for the national market, with 70 and 14 production respectively. The F4 display shows the stockpile as 0, anticipated sales both national and overseas as 0, and the anticipated stockpile next turn as 70/14. However, next turn the stockpile will be zero. The conversion button makes no difference to the figures shown (and with the total absence of feedback, I can't even tell whether it is now on or off) This has been the case for a couple of years now. As far as I can tell, actual production and selling is going on normally, it's just a problem with the F4 display.

Update: and no sooner do I say that, than it stops happening, so perhaps a problem with required incoming goods at mines or similar, Never mind. And the timber did upgrade normally, so that's just a display bug with the tooltip as I assumed.

Playing as Britain. When you discover the "muzzle loaded rifle" tech all your units upgrade to 1850-70 type units. That's OK, but you can then also start building 1870-90 type troops with a range of 7 instead of 6 that the earlier rifled troops have.
