Africa Rivers Explored?

I'm playing Prussia and have protectorates all around central Africa but the navigable river is still blacked out. i can send river boats through the area as well as transport through it as well but I can't park my boats in the river. Its as if the river hasn't been explored. Do you need to explore the river? If so how? How do I get the river to go from unexplored to explored?

Well, exploring river was allways problem, they can be explored via cards (explorers/geographick expedicion - mayby modification to them is posible, but which command to add? ), and AFAIK there is no autoexploring in times (which is realy shame), so far you just have to learn to live with it.
I hope they will addres it in final 1.04 patch to some degree.

I'm not sure what happened, but suddenly I loaded my game back up and all the rivers were open and all ocean regions are color coded.

Happy you, for me still nothing. I can only hope for auto-explore function - so it will explore regions automaticaly over time, more faster the more neighborhood regions are explored.
