Bug and Patch Problem

Hi Guys,

Haven't touched the game since summer but i am excited to continue my German campaign. Seeing as i am relative new to the game i have two questions; How does the game update, from what i can see on the forum i have to manual do it but when i check the game version it says 1.03 which is the most updated? My second question is the biggest, since i last played in the summer, every time i press next turn, my game freezes.... i am thinking it is because of any the recent patches? Is anyone else having this problem? Recommendations?

to get up to date, best is to use the 1.03e patch (that is cumulative). There is a 1.04 beta that is in some ways a real improvement but reintroduced a couple of problems (very slow access to the economy screens, esp F4, and the immortal garrison problem) so probably best not used. You may want to have a look in the 'improve PoN' directory as a number of unofficial fixes have been developed for some of the main event chains that tend to break otherwise.

the only time I've had game freezes was very late in the game, usually connected with the sheer size of the Russian army. So it maybe related to the processing power of your computer? Certainly never seen it in the early-mid game so I don't think it is patch related.
