Missions Question

I'm a complete Newbie to this game. I recently started my 1st GC as Austria and so far I have played until September 1852. My initial Missions (received in 1850) are to have the largest army in Western Europe and to produce the most cattle, both for the next 10 years. The manual says that "each year the game engine checks and reports your status and will advise if you achieved the goal in that year." However, I have been checking my messages carefully every turn and I still haven't received any message telling me how I am doing. Is this WAD?

I only seem to remember messages when I was achieving my mission goals. It is possible that you are not making your goals, or there is a bug, that prevents you from seeing the message (the count is not correct).
