Kensai wrote:Taking Peking will surely give you a huge warscore surge while plunging the national morale of the Chinese. You should be seeing already the warscore levels of each peace arrangement though. Well, you have to take the capital and see what comes out of it. Perhaps the Chinese come themselves afterwards and beg for peace while ceding their old colonies to you.
Nice play, btw. Please post screenshots of your battle in the Chinese capital!![]()

The last time I attacked, they defeated me, even though they had twice my losses, and used their immense cavalry superiority to destroy two of my corps in the pursuit. Now I have plenty of cavalry, and have concentrated an immense army, but I cannot get enough of my three star generals to activate at the same time, and I think I need three full stacks, moving at the same time and arriving together, to have a good shot at victory.
And supplying such a large army is a real challenge, even with depots, supply trains, and merchant ships off the coast.
I thought it might be easier if I took the port in the province in front of Beijing, and used that for supply. However, the AI had a fort, and a huge garrison in the city, and I could not supply a large enough army to besiege and take the city, so I had to make a shameful retreat. And it is now November, and winter could strike at any time.
Problems of supply and coordination make this far from a sure thing.
vaalen wrote:Kensai, where would I find these files? I am a bit computer challenged.
Kensai wrote:Please zip the .trn and .hst file of your campaign. Say a turn after you take Peking and 3-4 before. I will load them here and tell you if it happens to me as well.
Kensai wrote:You probably don't run the latest version since while resolving I was getting errors (mostly warnings "there is no one in this regions" fix 562 and 1262 codes). Fortunately these were not fatal errors.
However, nothing new happened in the next turn. You still can't demand anything.

If it is of any comfort to you, care to join our ongoing MP playing a minor nation? There is a lot to learn and we use custom scripts to have colonial actions and national decrees even for unscripted nations. We also try to crush bugs as they arise, so gross inconsistencies won't be seen. Turn submission is rather relaxed, once per day, compatible with a healthy real life and your concurrent SP campaign.![]()
Kensai wrote:Many questions I have, because indeed I cannot ask for anything in a peace treaty. What version of the game you play?
1) With China, I get an error message (an exception of some sort) when I click on liberate nations or transfer colonies. This is not normal.
2) With Bukhara, huge warscore over 1000, I don't even get a diplomacy option, totally void. Although it's a limited war, you cannot even ask for peace.
3) With conquered Korea, I get to offer peace, but no options as well, although no error message fortunately.
4) On F8 I see some inconsistencies with the actual map, on claimed by us regions. It says, for example, that Anatolia is a Russian National Region (!!) and Kuriles influenced by you, although it is clearly not the case.
Have you run scripts of some kind? I have not resolved the turn yet, will be doing this soon. The I will post the log (v1.02).
Kensai wrote:Who knows. I really can't help you more than this, although your initial query is confirmed. The error is indeed repeated.
Come to the Paradox forums (link in the PBEM section of PoN here in the AGEOD forums) and we could accomodate you. No changes are needed for your game are needed, you can still play your own modified or not game independently. Only the hosts need to implement changes. So it's kind of ideal.
Would you be interested for a nation such as Persia or Egypt?
sagji wrote:Persia is in a mess - the initial setup isn't very good, so it ends up needing things it can't possibly get. However it is fixable.
Egypt has no economy at all.
Argentina has a small economy and should be in a reasonable state.

I'll post soon a quickfix (i.e you need 1.02 to have it work), but you can try on your side with this PON executable. Please confirm it is working for you too.
