ERISS wrote:Yes it matters. I do possess my Ageod games. When bought on Steam, you don't own them, Steam does.
Property is evil as in money ride world it easily theft your possesion.
Queeg wrote:Yes, but apparently if you buy from Steam, you get the patch.
Why is the patch only available to Steam customers? What's up with that?
Seems like they're penalizing their oldest and most loyal fan base - the folks who have been visiting here from the beginning.
They really, really need to get their act together. This "we're just a small company, so sorry we released the patch on Steam and then vanished for a day and forgot about the rest of you, but remember we're just a small company" routine is getting really old.
Are they a real business or is this just some sort of hobby of theirs that we're supporting? I'm beginning to wonder.![]()
vaalen wrote:You are blaming the wrong people. Paradox makes all these decisions, not Ageod. I have no doubt that the Ageod I know and love is not responsible for this.
The patch had to go through Paradox quality analysis. Ageod has no control over that. For all we know, Paradox QA has only finished the steam version, and has not yet cleared the the non steam version.
Were you aware that Paradox owns Ageod?

#1. All of the many MANY beta patches that AGEOD has released over the few months have NOT been Steam compatible. Steam users had to do loads of jerry-rigging in order to get a beta patch working that users like us who bought it through AGEOD could apply with NO issue. Steam has a policy of only official non-beta patches.
#2. This patch is the ONLY patch officially released through Steam. As I said earlier, Steam users pretty much had to either do tricks in order to apply a beta patch, or do with the release patch version of the game until now. So, they patiently follow through the process, and you scream bloody murder when they finally get something easy and first?
Honestly, think about it, do you really think AGEOD sits around thinking how much it can screw people around? "Yeah, lets release the patch on Steam one day before we plan to release it to others, that will really shove it to them!" while they twirl their moustache's toasting to evil!
Steam is not accountable to AGEOD, if it has something, it can do what it wants, when it wants to, and not have to ask for permission. That is how distributers work.
The delay bugs me less than the lack of communication. I understand there are different distribution channels with different QA procedures, timetables, priorities, etc. But is it too much to ask that Pocus or someone spend the few seconds it would take to post an explanation here? That's just a very poor way to run a business, if that's in fact what they purport to be.

when they did,, we had to wait that Steam has patch up, you have green light.
Pocus wrote:You know of Occam's razor principle? Same here, the explanation about the delay is the simplest one. Patch was sent to Steam a few days ago. We waited to have Steam publish it, but knew we would perhaps not have a fore warning, like 'hey guys, patch will be online in exactly '3 hours 24 mn'.
So this happened, they put it online, and when they did, we did not knew about that, we had to wait that someone reports to us: 'Steam has patch up, you have green light'.
That's it, and nothing more. No evil scheme, no insult planned.
Update: The 1.02 patch has been (at last!) approved and is now on its way to Steam. Once it is up there, it will be up there too

PON with Patch 1.02 is absolutely outstanding! Good job by Paradox, AGEOD and heaven help us, Steam. Enjoy the game and enjoy the Paradox/AGEOD gaming community that is also PHENOMENAL! And yes, it was a pain to copy the game out of the Steam folder to C:\Games, register and then download and apply the BETA patches, but it was a learning experience. I enjoyed the inputs of various AGEOD/Paradox game players and their insights. I can't wait for patch 1.03!![]()

And I've already complimented them on the quality of the patch. Even before you did.
