Switching to CSA in the Civil War

Sat Aug 06, 2011 9:18 pm

Can I continue play as CSA if I win ?
Will there be any events and laws triggered for CSA?
Can I plan my victory by buliding my industry in the south?
Will there be modern troops after 1865 for CSA ?
Had anyone tried playing as CSA ?
CSA = Confederate states of america AKA Johnny Reb

As i understand you start a game as the USA... so if you win, the south is not there anymore...

The problem from my point of view (a french person that have an interest in the ACW) is that the south even if they manage to win can't find a way to absorb the north... so a south victory may only lead to 2 states

In game, I didn't think that it is possible to choose the rebs 's side at the beggining of the ACW... and i didn't remember the possibility to change of country at the end of the war...

It may be interresting to devellop a mod starting in the 1860-1870 with a victoruous South but there is a whole world to update for the 10 to 20 years from the 1850 start...

Yes, you can go through that door, but I don't know what you'll find on the other side. SwitchFaction worked for me a couple of weeks ago - give it a try.

The CSA is born to lose, but in this sort of game often may not. As France I'd rather see the United States in two pieces rather than one. I'm curious what would happen.

Does the CSA have the same rights and capabilities with respect to colonization of the American West? Same technology base? I don't know, but please let us know if you find out!

SwitchFaction may allow you to play as the south for the period of the war but it was not an scripted event that permit you to change when the war start...

There will probably be no event specific to CSA as their victory is often only a dream for the first years of the civil war

We don't have many more insight as besides the betatester and the Team, very few of us have played the US after a lost Civil War
