Now, how do I do this, hitting 'T' in my home market does not give me the option to....... do I scour the earth for a market that is selling them?

Well, since I used to be an officer with a map, I am not going to tell you. :mdr:

REAL Officers don't need maps...

To answer the question, though, bring up the B Screen and mouse over what you want to buy. It will tell you where and how much is for sale, as well as how much is being bought.

Then, you can either take the shortcut and just left-click to buy in increments of 10, or go to the trade areas and use the T screen to buy however much you want.

I like to mix the two, depending on the circumstance.

Type B for the Assets Balance Window. Find Mfg Goods. The tooltip will list the markets where they have been offered. You can go to that area and use T to buy from specific countries, or just left click on the goods icon to automatically place an order. In the 1850s, I notice that the US is the only steady seller of Mfg Goods (other than the player). You may need to go to the US and click to offer them a premium price to compete for available supply.

In the 1850s, the US appears to be the only steady seller of Mfg Goods (other than the player). The Assets Balance window shows you recent supply and demand - you may want to go to a seller's market and click to offer them a premium price to compete for available supply.

Well, I served in the Rhodesian and South African Armies and my son is serving in the British Army(As an officer), and both of us agree that the British Soldier in general would get lost in their home town.

So obviously, you're referring to the American Army?

Indeed MJL. I have to use a satnav in Newport ;)

As for excercises in Kenya in the '60s... we just held hands!

I would not recommend calling in air strikes or artillery based upon some internal compass and a natural sense of direction -- map coordinates are really helpful in such situations.
