How long does the turn calculation take for you?

I honestly think I am up to about 8-10 minutes per turn. My computer is 5 years old.

A little over 1 minute, on a 1/2 year old computer.

I'm running at about 1 1/2 minutes, on a new middle of the line laptop.

My timer is set at 5 minutes, after that I keep an eye out for the resolution. After that it thinks for another minute or more. If I got a newer machine with faster resolution, there wouid be no time to get anything productive done while the game thinks!

3-4 minutes perhaps; Win-XP SP3 PK-5 Duel Core 3GHz with 2GHz RAM and NVIDIA 8600 GT video card, pretty low end machine these days. Turn processing is not too onerous or give enough time to read more than a couple of pages of a book. Currently playing as Austria in 1858 and using PON time to re-read John Newhouse's War and Peace in the Nuclear Age.

I don't have quantitative data, but there seems to be a difference between countries.

Playing as the U.S., turns took 5-10 minutes to resolve. Now, playing as Russia, maybe 3 minutes.

I am also pretty sure, turns take longer as the game progresses -- which makes sense since a whole lot more is going on.

It would be nice to have a replay available, so I could hit End Turn and pick up starting with a replay later at my convenience.

About the same as the game went on. Early on turns were about 1-1/2 minutes.

There's a thread over on the bug forums on Paradox where somebody said deleting the saved games folders dramatically reduced his turn times.
May be worth trying.

Starting with the new version 1.01i (you can download it on the Paradox forum now :thumbsup :) , we have added a new parameter to test one solution.
After installing that patch, add the following line to the System.ini file inside the Settings folder:
sysBackupNum = 1
That will keep only ONE backup directory on your current game.
Some people have reported that after deleting their 24 backups directory, the turn processing is much faster.
So, anyone that had played the first year with a hosting time of around 2-3 minutes, but now after playing a while, has 8-10 minutes, please try this solution and let us know if the hosting time is improved.
Thanks. :D
