How to use it right?

Since 10 years Austria is occupying most S-P and I want to bring back S-P into the game. So I thought to unify Italy and that command works, only that it does not alter anything, what the occupation belongs.

Under ? I found the option ChangeFaction, what seems to be the better choice, simply to order Austria to make peace and give the occupied regions back.
That works to the point, that I can order this peace, but unfortunately I encountered my first Mainlog CTD under 1.01H at the solution phase.

Is there a way to use ChangeFaction the way that i works?

You should never host after using the ChangeFaction command (it is stated on the command prompt that you shouldn't host ;) ).
Use the SwitchFaction command to be able to host.

Yes I read that, but maybe I can not understand the word the right way.
If I write
ChangeFaction Aus
and press return the order get printed and is valid right?
If I then go to the next turn, I get a message and after that I am able to play Austria ( as I get it for 1 turn ) I let them make peace and go to next turn, the game resolves and I get the mainlog error.
Where is the mistake?
Can I not manipulate like this? ( I mean its ok, if I am not able to do so )
What does mean host in that case?
What did I wrong?
How to make it that it works?

And if I write

SwitchFaction Aus

I am able to play Austria the next turn, so not to make peace, the option is not availible for S-P and then I get the warning that the other side is somehow not done with the turn.
I dont understand the whole undertaking, not a bit of it.

If you write:
ChangeFaction AUS(ENTER)
You change to AUS... but if now you press END TURN, you break your game because you should NEVER host a turn after using that command. ;)
This is a command that we use to see what the AI is doing on other factions... nothing more.

The SwitchFaction command will switch you to that faction on the next turn.
If the option is not available, it may be because you already used it (you or the AI). Check on the sent items or the ones that need to be answered.
The message that tells you about the other side, it is because you switched from another faction to AUS, so, your previous faction doesn't have an orders file... the engine will generate one if you let the AI takeover that faction.

It sounds like if you use ChangeFaction to look at another country but change back to your original country and then host the next turn, that should be OK? I believe orders you give in that situation for the country you looked at are superseded by the AI orders anyway, right?

I think what SwitchFaction is telling you is that the country you are leaving is supposed to have player orders but the AI will create its own orders since you are leaving.
