Military Presence:

I manage to get MP up north of Saigon with a Marine Brigade, but can't get it east of St. Louis with a leader, division and brigade. Any ideas how MP is established or what requirement I am missing?

Structures/Upgrades:

I have read in the forums about being to upgrade economic structures to level 2 and 3. I can't find anywhere that tells me how or when this is an available option. What needs to be done and how is it done?

Gendarmes:

What exactly do all the Gendarme units do? Are they necessary?

Diplomatic Relations:

I can't seem to figure out if I have good diplomatic relations or not. Is there an indicator or number that I'm missing? Also, say I want to build tea plantations in China. China turns down a commercial agreement, probably due to poor relations; how do I get the relations up in order to facilitate our commercial agreement?

Do I need a diplomatic relationship to trade with another nation, or just a merchant fleet in the respective trade box?

Those areas are controlled by several African countries. You'll have to defeat them to own it.

The higher the better. Good question, we're all still trying to figure that one out

Define Acceptable
If no major power has a defensive treaty with them, there should be no reaction.
But no guarantees.
