I must say, I am not at all surprised by the action took by Paradox (a better name has not been chosen for a computer company selling itself like it cares for the end user since gaming exists. Still better than SEGA, EA, UbiSoft or CA and many, many others). They belly well know what niche will buy AgeOD games and that's us, the users and visitors of these fine forums. I must agree with those before me, when I repeat their eternal words of wisdom, by saying that Pride of Nations is not a name which will attract the customers AgeOD seeks. Every nation is prideful, that's it's nature and even though the destructive potential was not seen in its fullest until the 20th century, it is still stupid to claim a nation as prideful as a selling point. Vainglory on the other hands, presents us with a historical period, when nationalism was in its early days and growing, leading to the greatest and most destructive, in economic, social, cultural and other forms, that is, the First World War.
At the risk of sounding vulgar, a Pride of Nations is a prostitute you pay for a BJ in a dark alley in the bad part of town and whom you forget the next morning. A Vainglory of Nations is a hataera with whom you spend the night, caressing both the senses and the intellect. That's what we want and that's what we will get, even if named after a cheap hooker.
If that is the final decision, then the comprise presented by both Phillipes is acceptable, if Paradox doesn't decide to do another number on us fans.
