I have no pause button...

Sun Jan 25, 2009 10:57 am

so can I still play this game?

I'm trying out the demo, being mightily confused in general, but when I wanted to try out my first scenario I hit an additional problem: To start the game one seems to have to unpause it by hitting the pause button. Me having a Mac I don't have that. Any way for me to play the game?

The beta-patch 1.05G has resolved your problem:
- Added two new shortcut keys: F9 (pause/unpause AI) and F11 (do screenshot)

However, some people reported that the pause key on your laptop (?) might be Fn+F12. ;)

Edit: you have a Mac, yes, so I guess there's no way to get the pause key, unless you install the 1.05G beta-patch.
:(

I have 1.05h installed. Luckily both F9 and FN+ESC work. Thanks! :)

Now, what benefit does the Pause button have anyway. It's a turn-based game, isn't it?

You pause/unpause the AI, not the game. When the AI is working, you must wait. So, if you want to plan something before the AI has finished (very useful in army-by-army activation mode), you must be able to pause the AI.
