Political AI - Loop?

Sun Nov 23, 2008 7:09 pm

Twice yesterday I had the game stop while the Political AI dialog was up during the Military phase. No CTD just sat there. Went away for 10-15 minutes and still there so had to kill with Taskmanager. Third time it did get past it and I was then able to continue.

This is still happening.
Military phase after giving orders hit advance to next stage. Seems to go fine until it hits the "Political AI is working..." dialog and then it hangs. This last time I left it running while I ran some errands and it was still there an hour and a half later so not just running slower than my patience will allow before killing with Taskmanager :)

I have sound, music both off.
I have 1.04.3 exe file.
I have all my graphics card settings set to application control.

One thing I think I have noticed is that it happens the 2nd turn if I play two turns in a row. If I just play one turn it's fine.

Can you please send me a zipped savegame so I can try to reproduce this loop?

Here's the save game.

Should probably point out I only have 1 gb of memory. Have another gig on the way but it's not here yet. I'm hoping it solves some of my problems.

Thanks again for all the work you're putting into this. It will be a great game when it's all fixed up ;)

Hi! The solution is here:
http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?t=11909

Next patch will contain the missing .ini files, of course.
;)

Copied the 4 files into the directory specified and it still hangs... are there others missing?

Reason: war almost finished (time limits almost reached) and AI was unable to find a suitable Military phase when to plan a "hypotetic" grand offensive! :mdr:

Fixed. Next patch.
