Game Volume Levels

During play the game changes my volume levels to maximum. Even when I minimise game and change them back to lower levels. Is this by design? Can it be changed?

Not designed. It seems to be a side-effect on some PCs caused by the MP3 library used for sounds & musics playback. Can't you adjust the music volume in the Options window (ESC key)?
