This patch proposal is a zip file, that you have to unzip.
Then you have to copy the unzipped files and folders inside the game directory, in such a way each file and each directory is copied in the proper place.

It should be very simple, because I built the zipped folders using the same schema like the game... ;)

The official patch that we will publish on monday, will be of course different: the usual exe file, auto-installer...

This patch proposal is instead a zip because the urgency and the frequency of the tests, and mainly because I did not attached yet the new graphics! :D

This is a GOOD reason to keep the beta patch out of the forums. But you should really consider in the future following what has been standard AGEOD procedure regarding patches- releasing betas in the "Help to improve" sub-forum (as is being currently the case with 1.12 rc1 for AACW, for instance)

The previous fix you sent did:
I played through Caporetto and WW1_v1 worked perfectly.

With WW1_v2, game freezes on first battle screen and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to escape the game.

Any news on this? I'm using version WW1_v1 as it works better...

Please be patient, Calvinus has some Internet connection problems in his new home, but he'll be back soon online. :D

I'm also getting multiple crashes. The last one was at the event pop up box after the diplomatic phase in the 1914 2 player scenario. The boxes would not close, but the cursor was active. In general, the game randomly freezes at multiple points. I have no anti-virus software running, nor any of the cited possible conflicts from other threads.

This is just the latest in a half dozen freeze ups and crashes. The game is unplayable, so I look forward to the upcoming patch to see if that irons out my problems.

Yes, I have here a very poor internet connection... I'm very sorry for that. The patch is ready (v4!), but it take several hours for the upload from home!

No, it will be the official patch.
I'm sending it to Philippe, who will publish it tomorrow...
But my internet connection is really very very poor! :D
