Events and Difficulty die roll

Fri Mar 18, 2011 9:06 am

What does the difficulty die roll for events mean ? For example, the Suprise event has a difficulty die roll of 3+. Does it mean if I play it in a battle a die is rolled and if the result is 3 or greater then I get the surprise bonus in that battle ?

I had a look through the forum but couldn't see an anwser.

Thanks.

I recall the difficulty of events is checked when the event cards are drawn. For example, event card of Suprise is drawn and the game engine checks if the player can keep that card: a die is rolles, on 3+ the check is successful, the card is printed in the list of events that can be kept in hand. That means the Surprise is not checked during battle, it's simply automatic when played. At least I recall it works so...
