game slows down after a while

i have a problem, i have recently updated to the gold version and now i find that after a while my game slows to a crawl making it completely unplayable, this doesnt happen immediatly it usually takes a few in game months for it to happen but it always does, and when i reload everything is fine again.

i am using the gold version update, my guess is a somehow screwed up the install but i'm not sure how i could have done that, i was using the normal version (without patches) then i updated to gold and then i patched it.

anyone got any ideas as to what the solution to my problem could be?

You can send a PM to PhilThib asking for the Gold full installer. So you can uninstall the game and install the full version. Be sure you're logged in with PC Administrator priviledges and UAC off.
