Grand Offensive not ending

Mon Oct 25, 2010 9:12 pm

In my current A-to-A game as the CP I have a problem with a Grand offensive not ending, even although I've completed its objectives and pressed the button to end it manually, which doesn't seem to work for some reason.

The offensive started in Mar-Apr. 1915, I took the province in question(Boulogne, Western Front) on that same turn. I tried to end it by pressing the Stop/Abandon button the turn after, which did not do anything. I know ending the offensive is a scheduled order, but it seems the order is never executed; the button to end it is depressed, but the GO does not end, not in that turn or the one after that.

I kept trying to end it the following turns, with no success. It is now September 1915. I'm not sure why it's not possible to end the grand offensive. Calvinus, can you help/explain this? Is this a bug in my save or something like that? I don't remember encountering something like this before.

Ok I will test the end-GO scheduled order execution in A-to-A mode as soon as possible. Thanks, Calvinus.

I will use your save. In the meanwhile you can continue the game, provided the GO will be ended in December for sure. ;)

I can confirm this; the grand offensive ended in success at the end of the year.

However, I have another question: Turkey's RP reinforcements was 10+2 until mid 1915 or so, but then suddenly dropped to 2 and stayed that way, which is making it very difficult to cope with losses.

I suspect it has to do with the fact that the 'normal' RP flow of Turkey is listed in the game as 2 RP per turn(not sure why - the RecruitPointsBaseValues.csv does list it as 10). Up until mid 1915, an additional 10 RP was added to that in the reinforcements phase, but it stopped after that.

Isn't Turkey's base RP flow supposed to be 10 and not 2?

The RP base flow is lowered by the number of corps you build: -1 RP for each corps under construction. Is this your case?

After checking I see that I did order the building of 1 corps. Still, this would mean the base RP flow is 3 RP p/turn, which is still less then it should be.

By the way, I found that the grand offensive problem does not occur when using WEGO mode.

Grand Offensive bug fixed.

I found also the cause why you get a -8 RP base flow for Turkey: Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are claimed by Turkey and this causes a -8 RP flow. So I added a tweak to ignore such penalties from off map boxes.

All stuff for a future patch.

Many thanks,
Calvinus.
