Economic Aid and Blockade Questions

Mon Mar 23, 2009 9:08 am

Sorry if i missed anything in the forums or the manual.

1)When i click on the Budget screen, i see the expression "Economic Aid" below "Income" and "Loans". But that amount is always zero. I tried it with both sides, and although i can see the the amount of economic support for different countries when i click on the "Diplomatic Summary" window but i never saw those reflected in the "Budget" window. Are they automatically represented in the "Income"? Shouldn't this be shown in "Economic Aid"?

2) I know if Central Powers send a fleet to a sea to control, it interrupts the blockade. But does the naval "Control" mission effect the Blockade for the Entente? If so, does the Entente have to send their fleets to the seas that are controlled by the Central Powers, or any other sea zone? And how much does it effect the Blockade?

When you enter the Economic Aids window, you have first to select the nation that is going to send the Aids: click on the flag. Then select the amount of EPs. Finally click on the "Send Aids" button. You can undo the action in any time by clicking the "Undo Send Aids" button. The aids will go to the nation displayed in the Diplomacy Window.

That area is the North Sea. A successful "Control" mission interrupts the Blocakede. The "Control" is granted for one turn. So my advice is to perform the mission during the turn of the Interphase, when the Blockade test is performed! ;)

Thanks for the quick reply, Calvinus. But i guess i have to make myself more clear:

1)When i look at the budget screen of the nations i'm playing with, the "Economic Aid" value is always zero. I know that other minor countries are giving economic support to my side, and i can see it in the Diplomacy Window for every country. So is the economic support they give me not displayed in the "Budget" screen? (for example, when i look at the Diplomacy window of Sweden, i see that their economic support is 6 for my side. But when i look at my "Budget" Screen, i don't see it displayed there. Is it directly added to the "Income"?)

2)What if i send a French fleet to the Adriatic Sea or a British Fleet to the North Sea for a control mission? Does it effect the Blockade over Central Powers?

Mmm... Probably the "Economic Aids" are displayed only as a cost for the nation sending the aids, and as a revenue for the target nation in another row in the Budget window... I have to check it. ;)

No need. Only Germany is required to control the North Sea in order to interrupt the Blockade. You are asked to run to the North Sea only if she manages to do that. Otherwise, if the control of North Sea is "contested", the Blockade is in effect. So I suggest you simply to send there the British Scout Fleet, with "Patrol" mission, keeping in your beck the Home Fleet, ready to intervene. ;) So you will be able to intercept the Germans in case they try to take the control of the sea... :)
