Railways

Mon Nov 10, 2008 5:34 am

Goodaye,

I've noticed in the AAR's that there are little 'signpost' on certain sections of railway track.

Would I be correct in assuming that the ownership of that track section is denoted by the flag at the top and the number indicates the number of corps that can use that section each turn, i.e the capacity of the track?

Cheers,

You are correct! These signpost appear where the railline for a given power ends, usually because of being cut by advancing enemy. You need to turn on the "convert railroad" option for a stack moving through the area to have it connected to your rail network. Obviously it costs movement points so you dont want an entire army doing this. But it is crucial for your supply lines.

Did you have a corps staying idle in the region while doing this? BTW, where was it (East or West Front)?

Usually I convert railroads while moving. I have a single unit stack moving separately, with railroad conversion turned on.

yes just ran a turn too. they were stationary. do they need to move thru the area? if so, any movement or do they have to start in my own area (say starting German province) and then into and thru a captured one?

West front, mutliple areas (stationary units)
