It may be sacrilegious, but I reduce the amount of popup info windows. I might miss an important item here and there, but there are just too many for my liking-some appear redundant anyway.
In the game menu you can adjust the type of messages you receive. Try turning them all off just for one turn-shocking-it really clears things up
. Then, turn back on what you want.About single country mode; it's nice, I like it, but there are some disadvantages compared to the 2 player mode. So, if you can't do it, it is not all bad.
